Okay, so I found this funny blog that has great parenting rules. I think I will adopt several of these into our own family. Here is the link:

I think one of my favorites is this one:

14 ) No one is perfect. No one is better or worse than us.  Treat yourself,  each other and others equally, and with respect. Love yourself and love each other. And know you are always, always loved by us, your parents.

 What kid (or grownup, for that matter) doesn't need to remember this? How much better would our lives be if we all respected each other!  I think I will make up my own parenting manifesto and post it here tomorrow.
